LAUREL CREEK ATHLETES COMPETE (AND MEDAL!) AT HERSHEY CHAMPIONSHIPS!
Hershey, Pennsylvania recently played host to its annual North American Championships. LC athletes Kailee Sawyer and Emily Buttinger made the long
drive to Pennsylvania to represent the club. At the end of the competition Kailee returned with a gold medal, and Emily with a fourth place finish. The
results for the girls are listed below. Well done, ladies, and congratulations on an excellent effort!

LAUREL CREEK ATHLETES SET NEW PROVINCIAL AND NATIONAL RECORDS AT NATIONAL YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS!
A number of records were set by Laurel Creek athletes at the recent National Youth Championships. Jaimie Phelan set new standards in two different
races. Her times of 3:36.39 in the U16 Girls 1200m, and 6:13.71 in the U16 Girls 2000m, established both new Ontario and Canadian records, and will be
set as the first standards for these new events in the Midget Girls U16 category. Nicholash Bedi found himself in a similar situation, having set new
records in the Midget Boys U15 category. His times of 3:21.88 and 5:57.15 will also stand as new records in that category. Congratulations on a job well
done, Jaimie and Nicholash!
LAUREL CREEK ATHLETES MEDAL AT NATIONAL YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS!
A determined group of LC athletes performed admirably in Ottawa at the recent Royal Canadian Legion National Youth Championships. In three days of
competitions, the group won medals in a total of 13 events. While most of the athletes competed wearing the singlet of the club, Calvin Arsenault,
Aaron Stemmler and Jordan Sherwood had been chosen to represent the province of Ontario, and the club congratulates them on the effort they put
forth. Medal winners are listed below. The 2010 outdoor track season will conclude on the weekend of August 14 and 15, with the AO Junior and Senior
Championships in Sudbury. Congratulations, athletes on a great effort. LC is proud of your performances, and of the way you capably represented your
club and province. Well done!

LAUREL CREEK ATHLETES SET NEW PROVINCIAL RECORDS!
At the recent Athletics Ontario Bantam/Midget/Youth Championships, LC members Kailee Sawyer and Jordan Sherwood established new provincial
records in their respective events. Competing in the Bantam Girls 800m, Kailee completed the race in an impressive 2:15.69. This improved on the
previous standard of 2:15.79, set by Robyn Kowalski of Niagara Regional Athletics. In the Midget Boys 300m, Jordan crossed the line in a time of 36.81.
This improved on the previous record of 38.92, set by Sam Beckerman of the University of Toronto Track Club. Congratulations Kailee and Jordan!
LAUREL CREEK COMPETES AT ATHLETICS ONTARIO BANTAM/MIDGET/YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS!
On July 24-25, London's TD Waterhouse Stadium played host to the 2010 Athletics Ontario Bantam/Midget/Youth Championships. At the end of two days
of competition (and rain!), Laurel Creek athletes returned to Waterloo Regions with eleven medals. Congratulations on a job well done, athletes. Good
work! Medal winners are listed below. The provincial championships series continues with the AO Junior/Senior Championships, to be held on August
14 and 15 in Sudbury.

A group of LC athletes travelled to Moncton to compete in the Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships, on July 2-4. After three days of events,
the team returned home with two medals. In the Women's 4x100m Relay the team of Chisomo Mchaina, Tia Semplonius, Tonya Malcolm, and Flo Peters
defended the club's gold medal performance of the previous year, and Jamie Phelan won her first Canadian Junior medal with a silver in the Women's
3000m. Congratulations, athletes, on your efforts. Well done! Medal-winning performances are listed below. The national championship meets
continue on July 28-31, at the University of Toronto, with the Canadian Senior Track and Field Championships.

The Laurel Creek Track and Field Club is thrilled to announce that two of its members, Emily Buttinger and Kailee Sawyer, will be competing at the 2010
North American Hershey Championships, to be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on August 7. Emily will be competing in the 400m, in the 11/12 Girls
division, with Kailee competing in the 800m, in the 13/14 Girls division. The club is very proud of your accomplishments thus far, girls, and wish you all

LAUREL CREEK ATHLETE CHOSEN TO PARTICIPATE IN QUEEN'S BATON RELAY
Laurel Creek Paralympian Leah Robinson has been chosen to participate in the Queen's Baton Relay. The Baton will travel through seventy
Commonwealth countries, over a 240-day period. Laurel Creek is proud that Leah has been chosen, and we wish her all the best as she participates in
this wonderful event.
LAUREL CREEK COMPLETES INDOOR SEASON WITH SIXTH PLACE RANKING!
With the doors closed on the 2010 indoor competitive season, Laurel Creek found itself finishing sixth overall in the province with a total of 132 points.
With fifty-five ranked clubs, this is an accomplishment to be proud of. The club's standings in each division are listed below. Great job, athletes, and
